Amazing Benefits of Microneedling

Looking for a single procedure that can address multiple skin problems?

You might ask, is that possible? Yes it is. With the procedure called microneedling.

What is Microneedling?

Microneedling is the use of multiple sterile needles to mechanically stimulate your skin to produce more collagen. Collagen is what makes our skin firm and smooth and its production decreases as we age.

What to expect after the session?

Like any treatment, you might encounter some of the following, but they are totally normal:

1. mild bleeding

2. swelling on the site

3. redness

4. bruising

5. flaking of the skin

After a few hours, the first three will subside while bruising and flaking of the skin may take a few days.

What are the Benefits?

1. It works on different types of scars like acne scars, burn scars and even stretch marks.

2. It is a good anti aging treatment, the newly generated collagen makes the skin firmer and smoother.

3. It minimizes the pore size.

4. It can help in reducing/preventing appearance of wrinkles.

5. It can help reduce hyperpigmentation.

You can reduce your discomfort by applying a topical anesthesia ten to fifteen minutes before the procedure.

Microneedling can be done via derma roller or derma pen. I prefer to use the derma pen as there are several depths in one (1) pen unlike in derma roller that it has a fixed depth and it is safer as the pins are meant for single use only. You can use deeper or shallower depth depending on your skin problem.

The Takeaway

For best results, you can use serums like hyaluronic acid and vitamin c while doing the procedure, depending on what you want to achieve.

I personally use vitamin c serum as it has anti aging and can lighten hyperpigmentation at the same time.

For your safety, I recommend you to see a doctor first before your first session.
